Dog Days

I may have mentioned before that our two dogs, Itchy and Moose, are living with my parents while E and I are in the midst of this move; we probably won't have them with us until we buy a place again as finding an apartment to accommodate all our needs as well as allow a 70lb-plus pup (Itchy) proved to be a little too difficult. Living with Itchy in an apartment could have been a bit of a nightmare anyway, as he is rather fond of barking at odd noises, but it doesn't make E and I wish they were with us any less.

And as much as I miss them on a daily basis, I am not sure there is anywhere I miss them more than I do here at our home. They are as much a part of this house to me as the walls and the roof. Even when E was deployed, even when he was missing from this place, they were here by my side.

To not have them here never feels right-- I half expect to look out the back window and see Itchy sunning himself in the yard or to glance up and notice Moose sleeping on the shelf of the coffee table (his favorite spot.) Since my "boys" are heavily on my mind right now, I hope you won't mind indulging in some dog-adoration here at Under A Paper Moon.

For those of you who have pups by your side or waiting for you at home, give them some extra pets today; I wish I could do the same.

I'm such a dog lover and dearly wish for the day when I have the means to care for one. I love the scruffy guy in the Alessandra Mortola photo. I like scruffy wizardly dogs the best!

Aw, Courtney: I am sorry that they aren't waiting for you when you get home. I bet they miss you as much as you miss them.

I know what it's like to have the unconditional love for and from a dog. Our favorite little guy is our world. [I just gave him a hug and some love for ya].

I hope yours are sunning and hanging out in shelves [at your home] very soon. xx.

Moose and Itchy! I love those two guys :)

Also, I like all the Frenchie pics you included into today's post.

We took Howie to the vet yesterday and he weighs...32.6lbs! The vet insisted he was not fat. We own a pet anvil now!

I'm in love with this post. A house is completely empty without a loving pet by your side!

awww. Love seeing a picture of them after hearing about them for so long! I don't think there is anything like a dog to make a house feel like home ( a little cheesy, I know!) Hope you get to bring them home with you soon. I can hardly going on vacation without my two dogs!

I can't imagine how much you miss your pups. You must be so anxious to have the move over with so you can have them back!

LOVE this round up of doggy interiors--my two faves are the Pom on the bright white bed, and the two shaggy fellas in front of the striped couch. I'm a sucker for a big shaggy fur coat!

Oh, I hate this for you!! Nothing worse than being exiled from your best friends. You are welcome to visit Edward anytime your heart desires!!

Love all the photos!! Right up my alley!
