As much as I love being outside when the weather is warm, there are certainly times when the bugs are a little too pesky, and in those moments, I long for a screened porch where I can retreat.
great collection of porches. love the one with the blue floor. thankfully here in seattle we don't have bugs, even on the hottest of days. dining al fresco in the summertime is a pleasure.
I think you are right. My husband and I are just in the process of planning our new house and this is certainly a considering we are trying to work out at the moment. I would love to have the veranda completely open, but as you can imagine the beautiful Australian whether also brings with it plenty of pesky insects. Great images - I'll file these away.
Screened in porches are so Southern to me...but maybe that's because I grew up in the South and all homes had one! I LOVE them - especially when there is a big swing inside!
Oh Courtney, you have done it again! You have to stop, these images make me desperate for warmer weather! 4 degrees here this morning. Hardly weather for these gorgeous rooms. Thanks for your visit too. Jayne
What I would give to be curled up with that hound in the first photo!!! Perfect way to relax (though could I also add my own pup to the mix given that they'd of course get along...)
I love screened porches, having dinner in one in the summer, bundling up in a giant sweater and blanket and reading a book out there in the spring and fall. Heavenly.
I've worked in wedding and event floral design for the past five years, but as my husband is in the midst of a career change, so might I find am I.
Regardless of what path we end up taking, this blog will serve as my outlet for all things creative- home interiors, weddings, fashion, etc.

sleeping on screened in porches is my favorite - like camping. except no bugs and dirt :)

My fav memeory is of a sleeping porch night at a long gone B&B. Crickets chriping, breezes wooshing & me asleep like a baby.
Im sighing right now...
I yearn for a screened porch like these. So beautiful!
These are such gorgeous breezy spaces!
My parents are having weekend visitors and just finished sprucing up their screened porch knowing they'll be out there the entire weekend!
oh my goodness, what i wouldn't do to have a porch with a little swing.
