At Home with Blue & White

In E's and my home, I found myself selecting green as an accent color in many of the rooms, but my mom has always been a blue and white lady. Perhaps because it reminds me of her and of home, I find myself drawn to and comforted by rooms that utilize blue and white in their color schemes.

More and more, I consider incorporating this palette in our next house, and if I were to do so, all of the following options are items I could use to introduce the color combination into a room.

Blue & White Delight

As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, I thought a focus on blue and white was only appropriate and wanted to first start with items of clothing.

Over the last number of years, navy has increasingly become a staple color in my wardrobe, and I would be happy to add any of these pieces to that group.

Moments {of Embrace}

A lot of hugging occurs on a wedding day. There are embraces between old friends and embraces between new acquaintances. There are embraces between family and embraces between the two people who on that day say their vows.

So far, in the Moments series, we have looked at Moments {of Laughter} and {Stolen} Moments, and today I wanted to focus on the sweet and joyous Moments {of Embrace}.

I couldn't resist including this last photo from our wedding since I love the memory of that moment. We chose to see each other before the ceremony (considering we were already legally married, I figured it couldn't be too bad of luck,) and I loved getting this brief quiet moment with E in an otherwise hectic and non-stop day.

For All Seasons

The dark exterior of this house caught my eye, and I love how striking it looks within the natural forest setting. The black looks gorgeous against the green shades of summer, and surely it must look equally as incredible against the warm tones of autumn and a pure white snow in winter.
