Champion & Challenger

As I was looking through my pictures files, I realized I had saved two different images of the same room. The room comes from two photographers portfolios and is styled differently in each one. While the differences are slight, they do create two unique feels for the space.

I know I love the height of the windows and ceiling, the polished concrete floor, and the exposed rafter beams, but I can't decide which way I prefer it styled. The top image looks like a space where I would love to work on projects, but the bottom image looks like a space where I'd love to have an intimate dinner with friends.

Tell me, which way do you prefer it? Is one style the clear champion to you?

I can totally see what you mean by the two photos shows a different mood, the top one is clear, lots of open space like a gallery while the 2nd one feels warmer, more like a restaurant, I certainly would like to dine there! :)

How great to see that picture from the other angle - I think I like that one more in fact ... those gigantic windows make my mouth water quite literally!

Love the room, LOVE the table with wheels (looks familiar! a bit of deja vu from yesterday!). But I'm not sure I'm completely convinced by either set of chairs.

What about some wire Bertoia side chairs? They'd be airy enough so as not to weigh the space down (I think that's why I'm not feeling the tulip chairs), but also a bit of a modern feel to contrast with the rustic industrial table...

Great room and either way it looks good to me. As warm as the addition of red is, I think the furnishings work better in the first image - warmth could be added when you dine with flowers, candles etc.

Mrs. French- Thanks for visiting!

Anne- I think Bertoia side chairs would look fab in the space.

Vicki- Yes, you are quite right- warmth could be added through flowers, candles, etc.

Thanks everyone for weighing in on this one! Sounds like the champion is the space itself! And maybe we'd like it styled in a fusion of the two- adding some warmth to the airy feel of the first photo!
