Animal Crackers in My Soup

When I was little, I don't believe there was another treat that felt quite as magical to me as Barnam's Animals Crackers.

I loved the short and thin cotton twill handle on the box, which I would slide around my wrist as proudly as if it were the fanciest of handbags. Looking back, it was probably my first love affair with packaging!

Lately, I've had a hankering for these animal crackers. I wonder if you can imagine what led me to this craving...

No, it's not this song, but watch this clip and try not to smile!

  1. I LOVE animal crackers and always still bring them in the plane with me:)

Also, loved your comment about the verification words yesterday--laughed so hard. Those words are always so silly and sadly I need to typically spell them twice before I get it right!

  2. I love her singing this song ... brightened my day.

I agree ... and I think when we were kids, there were fewer kid-only things available, so that made a box of animal crackers even more special.

  9. I was looking for a picture of Barnum's Animal Crackers and I came across your blog.

Good choice on animal crackers by the way. Barnum's are the best. As you can tell, I currently have a hankering for them.
