We've looked at industrial interiors (here and here) and furnishings, but we haven't yet looked at how this style manifests itself in fashion, specifically in jewelry.
While some of these pieces of are harder-edged than others, they all have an industrial look, drawn, it appears, from the chains of machinery. These chains are undoubtedly prettier and more delicate in their final presentation, however, than those on which they were modeled.

Champion & Challenger
As I was looking through my pictures files, I realized I had saved two different images of the same room. The room comes from two photographers portfolios and is styled differently in each one. While the differences are slight, they do create two unique feels for the space.
I know I love the height of the windows and ceiling, the polished concrete floor, and the exposed rafter beams, but I can't decide which way I prefer it styled. The top image looks like a space where I would love to work on projects, but the bottom image looks like a space where I'd love to have an intimate dinner with friends.
Tell me, which way do you prefer it? Is one style the clear champion to you?

Moments {of Laughter}
When I look back on my wedding photos, some of my favorites are those capturing moments of laughter. One such photo was snapped by a groomsman, and while it is not professional quality, I love it as much as those shot by our wedding photographer! The groomsman happened to catch my husband and I laughing- a mouth-agape, eyes-closed, hysterical type of laughter- during our Best Man's amazing and hilarious speech.
The purpose of wedding photography is to document these moments. To preserve them for long after the last guest has left town, the last thank-you note has been written, and for when the details start to fade away to a distance memory.
A photographer will catch the moment the bride and groom first see each other, when they share their first dance, and perhaps when they make their getaway. They will also capture all the minutes in-between.
I often find myself saving images of the same unbridled laughter I experienced at my own wedding. I recently realized that this collection has grown quite large! Over the coming Wedding Wednesdays, I will be sharing these beautiful images with you with you in a series I call "Moments."
When I look back on my wedding and the photos from that day, I will remember that our Best Man gave the most amazing speech I've ever heard at a wedding. I will remember the sound of the room exploding in laughter and barely being able to catch my breath from laughing so hard. I may not remember all the words that were spoken, but I will remember stealing glances at my husband and he at me. I will remember us wiping tears from our eyes, tears born of joy and laughter. I will remember all of that simply from one photo.
I hope you enjoy Part 1 in this series. Because really, when someone else is laughing with gusto, isn't it hard to not find that laughter completely infectious?

Industrial Beauty
I mentioned yesterday how I've been craving all things industrial, and these pieces, found through Bond & Bowery, have me swooning.

I would love to have the file drawer coffee table from Empiric or the 8 Door Steel Locker from River Stone! Oh, but who am I kidding? I would love to have any of these pieces grace my home with their presence. Dear Santa, if you are reading, I promise I've been good this year.
And if you haven't yet visited Bond & Bowery, it is certainly worth a look (or few!) Their website is full of beautiful furnishings and art from dealers around the country, and it is incredibly easy to navigate and search.

An Old Love
When I was growing up there was a multi-story, abandoned warehouse that we'd pass on our drive downtown. Every time I'd gaze upon its cracked and broken windows, I remember finding it sad that a building I found so beautiful sat empty, looking so neglected and unloved.
I always dreamed of the building receiving a new life, a new owner, someone who would see the beauty I saw and lovingly restore the place into something even grander than its industrial beginnings. A place that would come to be filled with happiness and laughter and would shine brightly in reflection of that love.
I'm still head over heels with the idea of converted spaces and find myself dreaming the same dreams when I pass a lovely and lonely building that seems forgotten by time.
While there are plenty of old beauties yet to be reclaimed, sadly, I believe, including the one I fell in love with so long ago, I'm glad that more and more seem to have found new lives as residential, commercial, and office buildings.
I have been craving industrial pieces and spaces recently, and this amazing warehouse at Airspace certainly helps feed that! The exposed brick walls, the old wood plank floors, the concrete and metal all send my heart aflutter.
And I keep hoping that one day, when I'm visiting the place where I grew up, I will discover that my loved building has finally become loved by someone else as well.
