Nate Berkus
Months later and a few weeks before Christmas, in a moment of good fortune, I happened upon the silver airplane E had desired; that time, I made sure it left the store in my hands.
Nate BerkusI am terrible with surprises, and although I desperately wanted to give it to E the moment I got home, I did manage to hold off until Christmas; E's excitement and disbelief when he realized what he was holding made it worth keeping the secret those few weeks.

While one airplane in a home may be enough, I can't help but covet some of these representations, models, and items made from parts of airplanes.

The airplane windows above have been converted into lights, as has the nose of an airplane, as seen in the pendant below left.

Hey Courtney! Love airplane blades actually as art. I saw some antique ones yesterday in Fredericksburg & almost got it! Maybe pair it with the tree stump stools at our entryway :)
That switch plate is SO cool!
Aw, I love your post. My boyfriend is an Air Traffic Controller, so airplanes have always been apart of his life too. I just bought these little airplane fridge magnets from Urban Barn - they are adorable.
My husband loves airplanes and all of this kind of stuff, too! He is pretty much obsessed with Installations.
Hi Courtney!
I am so in love with those old wooden propellers... i want one!

Love it all! Planes are so romantic!
So sweet! I love the prints in the Nate Berkus designed rooms too--they look amazing!

Hiya Courtney-- thanks so much for your comment this morning. Be careful what you wish for-- I may rip the whole bunch of basil plants out of the ground and FexEx them to you. :)
Your airplane post makes me giddy. I have such a crush on the old art deco aluminum airplane fans-- adorable stylized little airplane bodies, and a working propeller that (apparently) also can provide relief on a hot day... LOVE it.
Really loving the light! x
This is cool. I used to actually assemble model airplanes when I was a kid. With the glue and newspapers and everything. It was great and a way to bond with my dad.
Beautiful pictures!!! My husband is a pilot and I was looking for pictures for my facebook page that I just created. You are welcome to join, may be good advertising for you.
